Steve Tanchel is a photographer and commercials director based in Johannesburg.
Steve’s stills portfolio encompasses a broad spectrum of work for a long list of distinguished brands both local and international, such as MasterCard, De Beers Shanghai, Unicef, KFC, Tiger Beer, Castle, Peroni, Anglo Platinum, Coca Cola, Sprite, Converse, Levis, Axe, Ponds.
Steve has been published in many local and international glossies including German Vogue, Wallpaper, Dazed and Confused, Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour, GQ to name a few.
In the moving pictures medium Steve has realized commercials for clients such as MTN, KFC, Woolworths, Aero, Garnier, Olay, Brut and Lux.
Coming from a fine arts background Steve has an affinity towards capturing people in all their forms ranging from the purely aesthetic and highly visual, to carefully crafted conceptual storytelling.
